Jira next-gen Project compatibility with BigPicture Cloud and BigGantt Cloud

Security defines the level of access granted to Jira and the application user. Please bear in mind that as the BigGantt and BigPicture operate in Jira environment, therefore they are dependent on the set of rules which are forced upon it by that environment in which it operates in. As a conclusion, we have two spheres of permissions which these apps has to follow: Application Security and Jira Permissions.

Application Security Setup

Our application offers 3 different levels of permissions, when it comes to users' privileges. These can be set up in the Jira 'Administrations' → 'Add-ons' → (BIGGANTT / BIGPICTURE) 'Security' menu. By the default 'Permissions For Everyone' is enabled. If this option is checked it grants the same (Administrative) level of permissions to all users which will be working with the application.

Global User

Allows user or a group of users to access the application and view the Gantt Chart with WBS (Program), yet nothing more than that.

Global Creator

Makes user or a group of users to be able to create New Programs. They automatically have the Access permissions for their own Programs.

Global Admin

Full permissions for a given user/group, including Program Configuration.

Please bear in mind that the higher the level of permission is granted, user will always have all privileges of a previous level + additional access. This also applies to App Permissions final functionality which give 'Permission For Everyone'. As mentioned before - the top feature disables users and groups set up in terms of access and grants the full access for each Jira user! Then checked it also disabled the Program Security.
