Adding new boxes

You can add new Boxes directly, using the Hierarchy mode by clicking on selected Boxes or by using the keyboard shortcuts.

Depending on the level in the hierarchy different types of Boxes will be added:

Level in the hierarchyChild Box type available
Program BoxProgram Increment
Program IncrementIteration
Iterationn/a

Add Box dialog

The default name of the Box will be the same as the selected Box but you can rename it.

Use the arrow in the top-left corner to switch between Program Increments and Iterations.

The Box period will be automatically set, but it can not exceed the period of the parent box.

Set the following attributes:

  • Box type (in BigPicture 8 you will be able to change the type using this option),
  • Box name,
  • Start and end date,
  • Icon and colour.

Editing existing Boxes

Once a Box is created, you can edit its name and period. You can also change the period using the Timeline mode.

Editing boxes is possible only in the Hierarchy mode.

Warnings

The period of the Iteration can not exceed the Program Increment period. This rule does not apply to Program Increments.

Deleting existing Boxes

You can delete an existing Box and its sub-Boxes by clicking on the 'wrench' icon and selecting 'Delete'.
